Dead Earnest has a long and successful track record of providing high quality creative learning projects for schools, colleges and universities.

We believe that educational environments are about making positive personal advancements and that drama can provide the perfect platform to explore creative learning. Our educational work aims to inspire, engage and motivate learners, whilst developing creative, personal and academic skills.

Schools

We have worked with over 100 schools - primary, secondary, special and PRUs where we develop bespoke projects that fulfill the needs of individual learning communities, with the aim of finding the true potential of each and every pupil. We love to come up with original and exciting ideas, that capture pupils' and teachers' imaginations and get creativity flowing!

Dead Earnest are a fantastic company to work with. From the moment I met with the team to discuss the school's needs and what we hoped to achieve from working with them they were excellent. The enthusiasm and positivity from every member of the team was contagious. They were so creative with their approach and engaged every single child and member of staff within school. Dead Earnest fully immersed themselves in the life of the school during the time they were with us and this made their projects even more successful. They were incredibly professional and adapted and changed things constantly to meet the needs of our children. Thank you for being such an amazing company to work with and I can't wait to do it all again next year!

We provide one off workshops, day long events, arts weeks, long term residences and issue based theatre in education performances. We also provide innovative Professional Development courses and sessions for teachers and management and work with senior leadership teams through creative consultancy.

'It has been an absolute pleasure having Dead Earnest in school. The children have absolutely loved having you and so have we! Thank you for all your hard work. It's been fantastic!'

Colleges and Universities

Our specialism is working with universities and academics to bring  research to life. We have extensive experience of working on large scale Public Engagement projects and have partnered with multiple universities in the UK.

For more information, take a look at our project page.

In addition, we enjoy teaching and guest lecturing at colleges and universities.

Education in alternative settings

We have also worked alongside Cape UK, IVE and Creative Choices as part of the Government initiative to provide professional traineeships for young people aiming to develop a career in the Creative Industries. We carried out the first project of it's kind in the UK with fantastic results. All trainees experienced working professionally, whilst gaining a Bronze Arts Award.

"This was one of the few learning experiences during my education that has actually helped me in the work place. We had hands on, real life experience of organising events and everything that came along with that.

This experience is still to this day coming in very useful. Only last week I had an interview which I referred to the work experience with Charlie at Dead Earnest Theatre, and the different skills it helped me develop. Charlie was kind enough to provide me with a short written reference which is also extremely useful when following my career in live events."
