Performances
Of course, at Dead Earnest we are a theatre company and performance is where our roots lie. We love using forum theatre but sometimes it just isn’t appropriate for the situation. For example, it would be difficult to get a conference of several hundred individuals to discuss issues intimately; there are just too many people and not enough time in the day. Instead, Dead Earnest can use their writing and performance skills to create a play that focuses the audience on the day ahead or, indeed, sums up the day that has passed.
We write individual scripts for each event, rather than just reeling off the same old performance again and again, as we believe it is vital to engage specifically with the audience. We can create a play that is designed to highlight key issues, to set the scene for the day or to offer a welcome break from all the power-point presentations.
With a large catalogue of actors and a history of writing and performing original pieces, we regularly receive feedback that our plays are the highlight of a conference, helping the audience understand, explain and discuss the overall themes that have lead them there in the first place.
