Health and Social Care
The health of us and those around us can have huge, often extreme impacts upon lives. It can challenge us both physically and mentally, dictating our actions and our feelings. It can also dictate to those around us; to family, to friends and to those people whose hands our care is in.
At Dead Earnest we feel that we can make a positive impact upon this area. We work with patients, families and health care professionals to find a better way of doing things. This can be anything from practising skills in role play environments to open debate on the practices that are already being used.
We use drama, we use facilitation and we use workshops to create safe and comfortable environments in which everyone: health care professionals; patients and families can rehearse new strategies for coping with all the challenges ill health can present.
We create forums where service users and professionals can air their views and discuss resolutions. We build accurate, interesting and engaging environments where health care professionals can discover the best ways of treating their patients. We can find ways for service users to share their experiences to improve health care provisions. We believe that Health and the Arts can combine for the benefit of everyone.
We have worked with a number of organisations in this area, from the General Medical Council to Cheshire and Merseyside Health Network, to Derbyshire PCT , to the Hallamshire Hospital, to Minding the Gap.
