At the very heart of everything we do at Dead Earnest is our passion for the theatre. It’s no surprise then, that we thoroughly enjoy working with artistic and cultural organisations to deliver our brand of applied theatre. It is really satisfying to revisit our roots and offer something back to the sector to which we owe our existence.

There is something that just feels right about using the arts to help the arts. The members of staff at theatres are there because they have an interest in it; they are generally creative people so using actors and theatrical techniques to train them seems to make sense. This is exactly what we did for every staff member across the Sheffield Theatres group. We used Forum Theatre to train them in methods of interaction and communication with their customers and with each other.

Of course, theatres aren’t the only places of culture we are interested in working in: we are eager to work with libraries, museums and even cinemas. We can develop programmes that cover a wide range of subjects, from innovative and interactive ways of leading a museum tour to helping staff engage with their customers on the right level.
